You’ve just got home from work after a long, hard day. You’ve worked hard but you felt that it wasn’t appreciated as much as you’d have liked. So what do you do? What do you now spend your time doing?

Do you sit down and watch TV? Maybe you log into your Facebook account and just spend your spare hours chatting and browsing through people’s news feeds?

Most people do, but why? Think about it for a second, how many people do you know who have achieved already their dream life, and are currently living in the exact situation that they would really like. How many people do you know who have the amount of money they truly desire, the car they want and the house they want? How many people are just accepting less than they’re worth?

So why would these people all spend their time just going nowhere in the evenings? There’s always time to work on your passion and in my opinion it’s a sense of urgency. It’s IMPORTANT! Sure you’ve just got home from work and all you want to do is just curl up and go to sleep, dreading the alarm which will wake you ready for work the next day, but if you don’t do something different, nothing will change!

I’m not working in my dream job right now, but I still enjoy my work; so I work hard all day and then when I come home I’m even more excited to start work on my passion.. My blogs and other such things. I simply don’t waste time watching TV. Films are different because you can learn things from films, and certain films are very inspirational, (see our resources section) but most reality TV is a waste of time.

Had a bad day

Keep moving forward

In everything we do there is a potential to improve, in relationships, finance, careers etc.. There’s always a way to move forward and it’s really a requirement in this life. What’s the alternative? Going nowhere, or even going backwards.

Instead of just doing what’s needed to get by, try giving more than you’ve ever given before in not only your relationships, but your work as well. Do, be and give more of yourself and you’ll notice rewards coming back to you very quickly. The world gives you back what you put out there.. Sort of like the law of physics.. ‘For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’. There’s always going to be something coming back to you if you put something out there.

It might not happen right away, but if you keep moving forward and constantly looking for ways to transcend your limits (See what I did there?) you’ll notice things looking better really fast.

Don’t let Facebook distract you

It doesn’t even have to be FB.. It could be anything. Anything that stops you from working on something you want to be working on, is a bad thing and needs to be removed from your life. Some people are actually okay with just wasting away hours of their life doing nothing, but for me it’s not like that. I only feel happy and fulfilled when I’m pushing myself, and much like the main character in ‘Limitless’ I have to keep moving forward. I can’t just stay at one level for a prolonged period of time

  • It’s boring
  • There are better things to move onto
  • Life should be an adventure
  • I believe I can and will be outstanding

Keep moving forward.. To where?

What direction should you go? To where should you be moving forward? Well that’s down to you to decide, but the stock answer here is ‘In the direction of your goals’. Whatever those goals are, that’s where you should be headed. Much like a ship leaving a harbor, right? It needs to know where it’s going. This page will help you with deciding what you want and setting goals.

It’s incredibly important to know WHAT you want and where you want to go, otherwise you’ll just end up lost and confused. We have articles about finding your purpose and goals etc, but the fact of the matter is that many people simply don’t know what it is they want in life. They simply haven’t given it much thought, but why not?

It’s only.. the most important thing ever!

Your goals, that is to say the things you want in life are the most important thing in your life. With no goal, you become nothing and we even have a post about that. You should totally read that post because it explains how our mind helps us to reach our goal and that it’s very important to focus on our goals otherwise we never get there.

I’m willing to bet that more people put thought and energy into deciding what to wear or what to have for breakfast than other big important questions in their life. Questions like..

  1. How much money have you decided to be earning in 10 years time?
  2. What do you want to do or give to the world?
  3. How will you provide enough value to the world that will match your self worth?
  4. How much money do you think you’re worth?
  5. What do you want in a relationship?

These are big questions, right? But when’s the last time you seriously thought about them? Yet things like choosing a smart phone contract or which car to buy somehow are regarded as more important decisions! At least, it seems that way because people spend more time thinking about those things. Maybe it’s time you sat down and thought about those questions..

Moving forward to your goal

Have you had a bad day at work? Maybe you’ve found it hard to make ends meet this month?

There are few people who care, and that’s just the brutal honest truth. Maybe a few close friends and family, but the bank doesn’t care, your landlord probably doesn’t care and nor does your utility company. They care only about money entering their bank accounts. It’s sad but true and that’s why no matter how you’re feeling, no matter how bad your day was at work or how you’re feeling about yourself, you have to keep going.

You have to keep moving forward towards your dream life and towards the things you want. Believe in yourself and even through the bad times, keep going. The world can be a tough place but if you’re reading this on a computer, phone or laptop then you already have it better than about half the planet, so be thankful for that. You have access to Google! Anything you want to know the answer to, you can just search!

You can teach yourself almost any skill in the world, yet most people use this power for things like checking gossip on their friends Facebooks or watching people falling over in YouTube videos. If anything, I hope this post has made you think a little bit, and maybe inspired a few of you to do something more! Thanks for reading.
