Everyone has something they want to do, whether it’s writing a book, getting that dream job or making money online, but it seems that no matter what it is, you should have always started it earlier. It’s as if we can never start at the ‘right time’.. I don’t believe there is a ‘right time’ to do something.
If you’re waiting for the perfect time to start a business or something like that, there won’t ever be a ‘perfect time’. It’s best to just start and go from there. When I started this blog, I didn’t know how to run a website, didn’t know how to do any of the technical fiddly bits associated with running a blog, but now a few months on and I know what I’m doing.
There seems to be a sort of mentality with some people that there’s a right time to start doing something and opportunities will sort of magically appear in their laps, but sadly, it’s not like that. For the most part, if we want something to happen we have to go out and make it happen. There’s rarely a ‘quick fix’ or anything like that, and instead we must ‘make the iron hot by striking’.
Don’t wait for the ‘iron to be hot’ before striking
This is a phrase which I don’t really agree with. It’s used to explain how sometimes it’s best to wait until the situation is ‘right’ before doing anything or taking action. I would disagree and say instead, ‘make the iron hot by striking’. Just act and then self improve from there. I could have researched how to start a blog and spent months even years learning about online business, but I didn’t.
I just started a couple of websites and learned things as I went along, and aside from making money faster, it’s just easier to learn as you go instead of over thinking and calculating all the ‘what if’s’. Just reach out and do it!
Even for things like trading stocks and shares, you should have always started yesterday. You look back when you actually have acted and say ‘I could have started this earlier and made more money’ or other such things. There really is no time like the present, and therefore I’m going to cut this blog post short today, and leave you with a message..
Act today, not tomorrow – There’s no time like the present
Whatever your dream or goal is, act on it today. Don’t wait for the ‘right time’ or anything like that, just go and do it. You’ll be thankful that you did. I saw an interesting video on YouTube the other day, and the core message was that ‘to succeed in business, you must BE in business’.
The entire message of the video was that if you’re not in the game, you can’t win it, and in that same way if you’re not even trying to succeed, you won’t. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, so today make sure you take a step towards your goal.
