SMALL Things!

When I say this, I really mean it.

I’ve been blogging, and trying to become an entrepreneur for a couple of years if not more.

In that time, I’ve learned a LOT.

I’ve learned all sorts of skills that I never thought I’d need.

Skills like how to write an email subject line that captures someones attention and ‘impacts’ them in such a way that they have to reply to it. This is great for getting contacts in my niches. Things like that I didn’t learn in school.

What I’ve learned that’s been the MOST helpful however, is that it’s not about the BIG things.

It’s not about the big goals and the huge vision you have for yourself. What it REALLY comes down to, is the TINY things you do EVERY DAY.

The little things you do every single day whether you feel like it or not. When you’ve got that down, all you need to do is add a bit of time and you’ll see how successful you can be. For me, those little things are learning, making blog posts and sending emails.

Now, don’t get the wrong impression, I LOVE doing this stuff. I really do. But there are days when I don’t feel like it. There are days when I just don’t want to write a blog post, I don’t want to reply to emails and I don’t want to get up out of my comfortable bed.

More often than not though, I do it anyway. I’ve been very busy building my website about Lucid Dreaming which I sometimes mention on here as well. This year marks the return of TranscendYourLimits as a brand and as a blog that I will be updating. I’ll also be making more videos.

It’s the small things you do DAILY

When you develop the right attitude, and you start doing small things daily, big things happen eventually.

You can’t just wake up one day and INSTANTLY be a success. It’s all about the journey towards that point.

Sure, it can LOOK like an overnight success when someone achieves that, but often it’s not. For example, in the rise of the personal development and strength coach, Elliott Hulse, it looked like he  was an overnight success. What people forget is that it took him almost 20 years to get to that point. During that time he went through some REAL struggles.

It’s the same with a lot of ‘stars’. You often don’t see the long hours they spend in the gym on a cold winter morning for YEARS. You see them win a big public game and suddenly become a star.

It’s not all about that big moment though. Without those long years of training and practice, that moment wouldn’t have been possible.

It’s the SMALL things you do every day that lead up to the big ‘wins’.

Why the small things matter

The small things matter because they build you into a better person.

If you do ANYTHING every day for 4 years, you’re going to be better at it than when you started. Chances are you won’t just be better, you’ll be basically a master of that thing. If you want to become a great blogger then write a blog post every day. After 4 years have gone by you’ll have written a LOT of blog posts, and if you’re smart, each time you write you look back at what articles did well and which ones didn’t.

You’ll improve constantly so that you’ll be able to write AWESOME blog posts by the end of even 6 months, let alone 4 years.

If you’re thinking about doing something today, even just getting bigger and stronger, consider this:

It’s not about that HUGE workout you do this afternoon. It’s about those HUNDREDS of workouts you’re going to do from now until net year. Think about the bigger picture, but at the same time focus on the TINY picture of.. Today.

Right now.

What are you going to do RIGHT NOW that will eventually lead you to where you want to be?

It’s like a line of dominos..

Line of dominos falling down

Topple the first one and the rest take care of themselves.

Just make sure that you start that domino chain by doing something today.

And then tomorrow.

And the day after.

If you break the chain, you’ll never see the big picture and get to where you want to be. You’ve gotta be consistent but don’t let that put you off.

Just focus on today, and on what you’re going to do after reading this that will get you where you want to get in life.

You’re that first domino..

Go and crush it!
